1. A Proper Cleanse
We're obsessed with clean skin, but a lot of cleansers can dry or strip the skin which can compromise the skin barrier, wipe out the natural oils in your skin, make the skin look dull, cause breakouts and do more harm than good. It's important to use a nurturing cleanser that is gentle enough to use as many times a day as you need that will dissolve dirt and makeup, leave your skin feeling soft and smooth and help to keep your pH and skin barrier healthy and in balance. We recommend avoiding 'wipes' because while they are convenient, they simply don't do a good job of cleansing your skin (nor are they environmentally friendly)!
Cleansing properly with a sulfate-free cleanser is a key to preparing your skin for the glow giving steps that follow!
2. The Right Ingredients & Formulations
Skincare ingredients can be trendy, popular and most of all, confusing! It's important to focus on formulations, not just individual ingredients. If you are combining ingredients on your own in a multi-step regimen, you may actually be rendering ingredients ineffective because they're not being used in the right pH, stability or ratios for your skin to get a benefit.
You'll see a lot of state-of-the-art, clinically proven ingredients as well as 'old-school' ingredients like aloe and witch hazel in our formulations. We synergistically formulate every one of our products for optimal effectiveness in order to build and protect the skin barrier, address the three most common skin conditions of breakouts, pigmentation and signs of aging with special focus on sensitive skin.
3. Gentle Exfoliation
Exfoliating your skin is an essential step to help shed dead skin and reveal a dewy glow. Our favorite method is chemical exfoliation in the form of lactic acid. Derived from sugar, it’s an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that is safe and gentle enough to use every day, not just once in a while for a special treatment. It is a chemical exfoliant that breaks down and releases dead skin cells to reveal healthy, glowing skin without the risk of damaging your skin or causing skin reactions.
4. Max Out On Moisture
Your moisturizing step should nurture and treat your skin as well as lock in hydration so your skin is plump and healthy. Moisturizing with nutrient-dense formulas that contain power ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalane, sodium pca, beta glucan and pro vitamins is key!
5. Stay Hydrated & Eat Whole Foods
The more hydrated your body, the glowier your skin will be. Likewise, the fewer processed foods going into your body, the better for your skin health and the more your skin will glow!
6. Incorporate Facial Massage
Facial 'Yoga" has many glow giving benefits. It releases tension, helps to firm tissues and smooth fine lines as well as stimulating muscles and encouraging lymphatic flow. If you don't have time to Gua Sha or massage, think about taking time to massage your skin while you cleanse and apply moisturizers and serums.
7. Use Fewer Products
It may sound strange for a skincare company to suggest using less product. But we truly believe that when your formulations do the heavy lifting, you just don't need as many products.
